Mike Huckabee on "Muslim rage" and the First Amendment

Is the solution to so-called “Muslim rage” to gut the First Amendment? Our embassies in over 30 nations are under siege, allegedly because of a YouTube video, and France has shut 20 embassies after a French satire magazine ran caricatures of Mohammed. But some of our intelligentsia have a solution. In an L.A. Times op-ed, Sarah Chayes of the Carnegie Endowment suggests we should declare insulting Muslims to be unprotected speech, like yelling “fire” in a crowded theater. She argues speech should be illegal if you know it will spark a violent reaction. That’s not only an affront to the Constitution, it also implies that Muslims aren’t civilized humans, like other groups who can take criticism, but a mindless destructive force, like a theater fire. Ironically, I think HER speech just insulted Muslims.
